Project: Logo Creation
About a 15 ago, while working at K2 Snowboards, I regularly exchanged emails with our catalog printer, who I’d never met in person. At first, our messages were all formal and work-focused—but I quickly realized he didn’t need that kind of formality. Soon, the stiff “please” and “thank you” emails were replaced with back-and-forth banter, swapping surf and snowboard stories, and the occasional playful insult.
When we finally met, I discovered this fro-haired guy was as passionate about surf, travel, and life as he was about his work. Over time, we built a solid friendship.
So, when he decided to branch out and start his own business, they asked me to create their brand identity. While they were busy firing up the presses and getting things off the ground, I focused on delivering a strong aesthetic foundation.
The signature mark shown here is just the beginning—hopefully the first step toward big things ahead for them.
