Project: K2SNBD Catalog – Field Guide – Design & Layout
The Field Guide catalog was inspired by vintage Forest Service and military field manuals, designed to capture the rugged, utilitarian spirit of well-worn guides used in the outdoors. The goal was to create a catalog that felt authentic and tactile, evoking a sense of exploration and durability.
To bring this vision to life, we sourced authentic materials from local surplus stores, including old topographic maps, military patches, storage crates, field guides, and nautical accessories, which were used to style and set the tone for the photoshoot. These elements informed both the visual direction and the catalog’s storytelling.
For the product tech spreads, we drew inspiration from the step-by-step instructional illustrations found in vintage manuals, reimagining them with a modern twist to align with current design trends. The result was a catalog that blended heritage and contemporary design, perfectly capturing the adventurous spirit of the K2 brand while feeling relevant to its audience.
